Timeless, Glamorous and Iconic.
NOIR DU NOIR
For as long as fashion has reigned supreme in our lives, a myriad of designers and photographers have created powerful and distinct editorials featuring the ultimate style classic – THAT TIMELESS BLACK DRESS…
This specific shoot aimed to personify and capture that elusive, yet integral role that celebrities play in fashion and photography. We sought to recreate the regal persona of an iconic celebrity muse holding court on the red carpet at the glamorous MET GALA and the famous Cannes Film Festival.
Poised and perfect, she exudes that inevitable rule – remember your best angles – while dozens of stylists scramble to assemble looks for lunches, launches and lavish after-parties.
Ironically, for this editorial, it just so happened that the enchanting couture confections of tulle, corded lace, rose embroideries and ruffled crinoline hems ruled gracefully in the halls of a once-thriving tanning factory on the outskirts of Cape Town.
This enigmatic space, which consists of bare rustic industrial galleries, holds a certain mystery of decades gone by. Derelict, ruined suites are the perfect foil to flaunt the muse styled with bespoke handcrafted couture ensembles, fine jewellery and luxury leather accessories.
